  • Stephen’s Place currently has space available. We are down to the last few apartments.

Now is the time to get in your application to be part of the initial group of residents.

When Stephen’s Place is full we will track those looking to fill any openings in the future. However, as we are an “age in place” community, there will be no predictable timelines as to when apartments will open.

  • Our community is located in a neighborhood with lots of opportunities for residents to fill their time. We’re situated near a park, an elementary school, stores, places to pickup groceries and other shopping.

We have a Habitat for Humanity within 5 mins walking distance which makes for great volunteer opportunities. We also have a Dutch Bros close-by, where residents can get their coffee on (or hot chocolate).

We’re a short drive from lots of stunning, accessible nature trails, Vancouver’s brand-new riverfront walk, seasonal pumpkin patches, star gazing opportunities, and we’re across the river from Portland, Oregon, where we can catch a Blazer’s game or take in the sights.

Our area was specifically chosen for safety, opportunities to get out and out, suitable employers an places to volunteer, and space to generally live a fulfilling life with accessible entertainment and essentials.

  • Our current residents range in age from 21-75. We’ve found that this creates space for wonderful friendships of all ages. This wide age range also means our residents have a variety of interests to accommodate.

Our Life Enrichment Manager and team take time with each resident to understand what their passions are for day-to-day activities as well as outings and job placements. This helps support independence and maintain the sense of community we set out to create when we first opened our doors in 2015.

  • As of January 2024, our pricing for our studio apartments is $4800, $5000 for our one-bedroom units, and $5100 for our large premium one-bedrooms. Subject to availability.

These prices include a wide variety of fun and educational programming, job placement assistance plus fresh meals and two snacks per day.

We adjust our rates yearly to continue to provide quality support and housing for our residents. For further details on pricing and structure, send us an email at info@stephensplace.org

  • Many programs charge separately for services, the apartment, meals, activities, and such. Our pricing is inclusive of all services, programming, three meals per day, two snacks per day, and support and care from our incredible Residential Coordinators who are licensed.

We offer 24-hour care provided by certified Home Care Aids, CNA’s, and our nurses. We also provide life coaching, job coaching/development/placement, yoga, arts and crafts, games, horticultural therapy, group fitness classes, overnight trips, a variety of daily programming, activities of daily living, and many other life-enriching opportunities.

Above all, we provide our residents with a thriving home-like environment that promotes independence and dignity.

  • Unfortunately, no. Stephen’s Place is a private-pay facility.

  • Yes, many of our residents work. We even had residents who were essential employees that supported the SW Washington community through the pandemic.

Some of our residents worked for 20-30 years before retiring, some people currently hold stable jobs and others are just starting the process to find the right job for them.

We work with job coaches to support our residents in finding the right fit, working through challenging situations, and doing their best. Residents who don’t work often volunteer either on their own or with us as a group if they’d like.

  • Residents get to and from work, appointments, outings and fun, and visits with friends and family in a variety of ways.

We have vans we use for transportation. There is a bus stop within walking distance; most residents qualify for the door to door bus service, and we even have residents that drive themselves!

  • Of course! Stephen’s Place is home. Our community is staffed 24/7/365 and many residents stay for the holidays. We celebrate holidays together based on the holidays our residents historically celebrate. Residents are also welcome to travel to spend time with family for the holidays.

  • Yes! Stephen’s Place is just like your home. Our residents call Stephen’s Place home, so the things you do in your home, we do too. We go on vacations, travel to see family, go out for meals, have people over to celebrate events, invite guests for dinner, have BBQ’s and play games outdoors. We make dreams for our next adventures, and so much more.
