Sensory Pumpkin Seed Slime

pumpkin slime

Ok, so there are so many pumpkin seed activities that we needed to find a place for all of the stuff we scooped out of our pumpkins. And we know by now that everyone loves slime and many people love pumpkin spice.

Slime is a fantastic tactile tool for sensory engagement. This pumpkin slime also has the added benefit of being clear, so it lets the holder inspect the shreds of pumpkin and seeds as well. Additionally, the seeds and pumpkin flesh add a variety of textures. Sprinkle some pumpkin spice and you’ve got some wonderful fall smells to boot.

You will need

  • 1 tsp of Pumpkin Spice
  • One mini pumpkin (you can reuse this one, too!)
  • 1/2 cup of clear school glue
  • 1/4 cup of liquid starch (this can be found in the laundry detergent aisle)
  • 1/2 cup of room temperature water
  • Large bowl and measuring cups

Instructions

  1. Cut off the top of your mini pumpkin and scoop out the softer flesh and seeds.
Note: you can also reuse the pumpkin from the above experiment
  2. Stop by adding the glue on the water to the mixing bowl..
  3. Get your pumpkin insides and mix them in next
  4. Add the liquid starch and mix.
  5. Keep mixing with your hands until it feels like slime!
  6. You can also put the slime into the pumpkin.
  7. And you’re done!
