How to Make a Christmas Glitter Sensory Bottle
The holidays are great, if not a little chaotic at times. If you care for someone with intellectual and developmental disabilities, you probably already know that having sensory bottles as part of your calming kit can go a long way with all of the upheaval of the season. In this blog post, we will show you how to create Christmas sensory bottles to help involve everyone in the seasonal festivities.
You will need:
- An 8-ounce bottle or jar
- 2/3 cup of glitter glue in red, green, or gold
- 1/3 cup of warm water
- Food coloring in red or green.
- (Optional) Christmas confetti or snowflake confetti
- Hot glue or super glue to seal the sensory bottle or jar
Directions:
- Empty all of your clear glue into the jar or bottle you’ve chosen.
- Pour in warm water until about an inch before the top of your sensory container and mix until they are fully combined.
- Add food coloring into the water mixture.
- If you’ve chosen to use Christmas confetti, add as much as you like now.
- Make sure that the threads on the top of your bottle or jar are dry.
- Take the lid of your bottle or jar, make sure it’s also dry, and add a line of either hot glue or superglue to the inner side of the rim.
- Quickly screw on your cap before the glue sets.
- Your Christmas sensory bottle is ready to use!
